About Us

Anni Stonebridge is a certified UKNHCP Practitioner based in Deeside, Aberdeenshire, and is the originator of Barefootworks. She has an interest in the effect of behavioural and postural training on equine health and performance. With a BSc in Psychology, and fifteen years of horsemanship and equine behaviour training with many different clinicians including Steve Halfpenny, Lisa Bruin, PNH and Kelly Marks, Anni also provides practical horsemanship training alongside her trimming practice. In the past she was a saddler and saddle fitting consultant with Free 'n' Easy Saddles, trained with Balance International, and will offer advice on saddle fit.

Anni has kept her own horses barefoot for nine years, and as well as completing the UKNHCP certification programme, has trained with Jane Berresford, Peter Laidley, Pete Ramey and Dan Guerrara.

When working on her own horses she combines natural horsemanship, horse psychology and classical training.

Dawn Saunders is certified by the Swiss School of Barehoof Trimming, directed by Dan Guerrara, and is a member of the American Hoofcare Association. Dawn has owned horses for 20 years, is a keen member of the Scottish Endurance Riding Club and particularly loves to take to the hills on multi-day trail rides whenever time permits! Her interest in natural horse-keeping was initially sparked when the family's much loved Shetland pony Magic, was diagnosed with grass sickness and with the help of family and friends was successfully nursed back to health by many alternative methods. This interest also led her to study horse behaviour and different forms of natural horsemanship including clicker training.

An intermittent lameness with Erin, her riding horse for the past 6 years, gave her the push required to contact Anni and take her own horse barefoot in 2005. The changes she has witnessed in both health and performance have confirmed that her decision was the right one, and she has reorganised her land for optimum hoof health - incorporating Jamie Jackson's track system. The trim is only the beginning!!

During 2006/7 Dawn and Erin completed both pleasure rides and 20 mile competitive endurance rides very successfully, along with the Silver Boot Race and several two day trail rides; all barefoot; they even managed to bag two Munro's on their travels!

Liz Lamb is certified by the Swiss School of Barehoof Trimming, directed by Dan Guerrara. Liz has joined Barefootworks in 2008, having seen vast improvements in her own horses feet since applying a barefoot trim, and addressing their diet and lifestyle.

Liz has run a successful business offering equine clicker training for the past 4 years, having spent time training in both Canada and France. She is in the process of developing a Scottish Clicker Centre from her base in Aberdeenshire, from which to offer clicker training and host clinics. She currently co-ordinates clinics for Alexandra Kurland and James Shaw, and has a personal passion for dressage - using clicker training of course!

Liz is keen to help more people become aware of how barefoot can work for them. She also intends, along with the other Barefootworks practitioners, to offer a rehabilitation service to visiting horses.
